Wedding at Sydonie Mansion

It was a beautiful fall day for Ben and Kailey’s wedding at Sydonie Mansion.

This wedding is a little extra special because Kailey and Blak grew up together and have been best friends since they were little; they were almost like sisters when they were growing up. Ben and Kailey have been together for nine years now, and they are such a sweet couple. They are truly each other’s best friends! These two were actually the first couple Blak ever photographed before we opened our business. It was so fun to capture so many moments for these two on the biggest day of their lives!

Sydonie Mansion is a beautiful wedding venue in Mount Dora, Florida. The mansion is an old historic landmark built in 1883. This Florida wedding venue gives a romantic garden feel as soon as you step onto the property. Kailey and Ben chose this location for their wedding because of the property’s gardens and florals.

The two enjoyed a first look together in the courtyard and exchanged gifts with each other. After their first look, we explored the grounds to capture more portraits. Because Sydonie Mansion is so beautiful, we could’ve taken pictures of these two all day long! Kailey’s favorite area is the boathouse, so we made our way over there. At one time, the water used to come all the way up to the house!

They had an outdoor ceremony facing the lake. As Kailey walked down the aisle, Ben’s smile grew across his face. During the unity ceremony, they braided a knot to symbolize, “A cord of three strands won’t easily break.”

Kailey and Ben chose to host their wedding reception outside the mansion. The area boasts of old oak trees covered with Spanish moss and a lovely covered porch allowing places for guests to relax. With a view of Lake Minore in the background, this entire location served as a stunning venue. Their guests lined up for a sparkler exit as a lively way to end their magical day. They had a blue vintage Chevrolet getaway car awaiting them, and it was the perfect ending to a perfect day!

Kailey and Ben’s wedding day was filled with joy, and all of their friends and family surrounded them. About three months after their wedding day, Kailey lost her father unexpectedly. We’re thankful for the photos we captured of them all together! The pictures of Kailey and her dad are now some of her favorites. It’s moments like this that make us appreciate our job as wedding photographers. We capture all of the important moments, from thoughtful details to the big moments like a father walking his daughter down the aisle. Kailey and her family have these beautiful memories to look back on, and we are thankful for that.
